Meet your loctician
I don't just do hair. I steward a gift.
There's a reason this salon is called Virtuously Gifted. I believe the ability to build beautiful, healthy locs is a gift — and a gift is only as good as the character behind it. So every head that sits in my chair gets the same thing: honesty, patience, and hands that treat your hair like it matters.
— Valeria Porter · Certified Sisterlocks™ Loctician
My journey
My hair story started the same place yours might have.
Every loctician's story starts somewhere. Mine started with a love for natural hair — and with seeing how many women couldn't find a stylist who treated their hair, their time, and their trust with real care. [Valeria: add your personal hair story here — the moment locs became personal for you.]
So I built the salon I wished existed. I trained and certified in the Sisterlocks™ method — the precise, patented system behind the finest, most uniform locs — and opened a private studio where every appointment is one-on-one. No crowded salon floor. No noise. No distractions. Just stylist and client, connecting.
Today I serve a loyal clientele across Lawrenceville and Gwinnett County — Duluth, Suwanee, Buford and beyond — from my suite at VG Salon Studios. The name Virtuously Gifted isn't a slogan. It's the standard I hold my hands to, every appointment.
If you've ever stood in the mirror tired of fighting your hair… if you've been burned by a start that went wrong… if you just want someone to finally get it right — I understand, because I've stood exactly where you're standing.
What guides me
What "virtuously gifted" means in my chair.
A private, one-on-one experience
No loud noise. No distracting conversations. No kids running around getting in the way. Just an environment where stylist and client can truly connect — your appointment is yours alone.
On time, every time
Your appointment starts when it's supposed to — because I value your time, and I value mine. No double-booking, no waiting rooms, no wasted Saturdays.
Healthy hair, honest guidance
Your hair is very important to me. I make real recommendations for achieving and maintaining healthy hair — because I care about you and your hair, not just the appointment.
Why work with me
The part you can't get anywhere else.
Anyone can learn a technique. What my clients come back for — for years — is the relationship. I remember your hair goals and your last conversation. I celebrate the milestones with you: the first retightening, the one-year mark, the day your locs finally do the thing you dreamed about. In my private suite it's just us — a calm space where we can actually talk, laugh, and build your hair plan together. My work and my studio have been featured in VoyageATL's "Hidden Gems," but the feature I care most about is the one where your locs turn heads.
When you choose me, you're not booking a chair. You're choosing someone who's invested in your hair for the long haul — and who takes that as a real honor, every single time.

Let's begin
Your hair deserves a gift, given carefully.
If my story sounds like the kind of care you've been looking for, I'd love to meet you. It starts with a simple consultation — no pressure, just an honest conversation about your hair.
